Chef Peter Shaner
Pete has had a passion for cooking since he was a young boy. He enjoyed cooking with family and admired how working together in the kitchen brought them closer together. Chef Pete dove right into the culinary world right out of high school, where he was exposed to several different styles of cooking such as, short order, upscale, casual, and caterings. Things really got going when he first became employed at Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. He started as a line chef in Farradday’s Steakhouse where he was involved with the re-branding of Otis and Henry’s. Chef Pete started developing his culinary career by becoming a head of the Banquet Department as Banquet Chef and he became a Sous Chef where he aided in the transition of the space that is now Farmer’s Pick Buffet. From there, he took the opportunity to become an executive Sous Chef at Otis and Henry’s and from there his career took off. Chef Pete’s favorite part about the culinary industry is the interaction he has the opportunity to have with the guests and ensuring their satisfaction. During his time at Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo he hopes to learn and grow and take the steps necessary to perfecting his craft.
