Meet Pete Shaner Multi-Outlet Chef. Award winner of the Best Beef entry with his Sous Vide Flank Steak Roulade at the 2016 Beers to you and Gourmet Too event.
A Waterloo native, Multi-Outlet Chef Pete Shaner joined the Isle® when it opened in 2007. He has worked throughout the various restaurant locations on property, including Farraddays' Steakhouse, Otis & Henry’s®, and as banquet sous chef. Chef Pete also helped launch the Farmers Pick Buffet, working with local vendors to source fresh produce, meat and other ingredients, bringing the farm-to-table concept to Waterloo.
Chef Pete has an innate knowledge of his customer base and what they enjoy. While keeping this customer-focused approach top of mind, Chef Pete enjoys being creative in the kitchen where he expresses his originality in updating menu offerings and working with his team to create seasonal and daily specials. He also enjoys the opportunities presented by smaller group dinners and banquet events to experiment with ingredients and inventive takes on the classics. As Chef Pete says, “I love to embrace a new challenge, it’s exciting." As the winner of many honors and awards, clearly Isle guests who experience his creative cuisine would agree that Chef Pete enjoys keeping things new, interesting and delicious!
